- The Rapids were reduced to 10 players almost immediately after Jackson Travis was sent off early in the match for a dangerous challenge on Sergi Palencia.
- Denis Bouanga opened the scoring with a penalty kick in the 42nd minute, Nathan Ordaz doubled the lead early in the second half, and Javairô Dilrosun scored his first MLS goal in the 59th minute.
- Bouanga's penalty was his ninth goal of the season and 50th MLS goal, and LAFC recorded a 70% possession rate with 22 shots, their season high.
