ME services in Sussex are under pressure, says charity

During ME awareness week this year the Sussex ME Society that works for those affected by Myalgic enchaphalomylitis (ME) or Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is highlighting the pressures that are being put on NHS specialist ME/CFS services and the charity supporting them since the Long Covid (LC) services have closed.

The Austrian Society for ME/CFS demands more awareness of multi-system disease and better care for patients. Under the motto "unsupplied since 1969", field beds are placed on the Vienna Heldenplatz on Monday afternoon. These are symbolic for the seriously ill patients. On Monday evening, sights throughout Austria will be illuminated blue, including the Vienna Ferris Wheel, the Donaukanalbrücke as well as the Vienna Volkstheater, the Grazer Uhrtu…

Although ME/CFS has been known as a serious neuroimmunological disease for decades, there is still no cure. Around 620,000 people suffer from this disease require research and care.

"My mom is just lying in the dark." With these words, ME/CFS sufferers and their families made it shockingly clear on Monday, the international day of action, in front of the Landhaus Bregenz: We finally need help – here in Vorarlberg.
