Authorities maintain a state of alert in Mureș County, after chloride values in the Târnava Mică and Mureș rivers continue to exceed the permitted limits for drinking water. 15 control sections are being monitored, and the water captured at Târnăveni and Fântânele cannot be made potable. The population in 16 affected localities is advised to use only alternative water sources.
