South Carolina Attorney General Race Advances to Runoff
The runoff will decide the nominee after neither candidate won a majority in the Republican primary, officials said.
Stephen Goldfinch and David Stumbo have advanced to the Republican runoff for South Carolina Attorney General following the June 9 primary election.
South Carolina law requires candidates to secure over 50% of the vote to win outright, forcing a runoff between the top two finishers when no candidate achieves a majority.
With 70.41 percent of precincts reporting, Goldfinch leads with 142,636 votes, while Stumbo follows with 119,887 votes and Pascoe trails with 81,780 votes.
The South Carolina Runoff is scheduled for June 23, 2026, where the candidate receiving the most votes wins the Republican nomination.
Democratic candidate Richard Hricik, who ran unopposed in the primary, will face the Republican nominee in the Nov 3 general election.
