- On Friday, the Supreme Court of India ruled menstrual health falls under Article 21 and 21A, directing states and Union Territories to provide free sanitary pads in private and government schools.
- A public interest petition filed on December 10, 2024 by Jaya Thakur sought pan-India implementation of the Union government's Menstrual Hygiene Policy for School-Going Girls targeting Classes 6-12 in government and government-aided schools.
