Dar Al-Fatwa announces tomorrow as the first day of Eid Al-Fitr

Mauritania's National Crescent Sighting Committee announced that tomorrow, Sunday, is the first day of Eid al-Adha, following extensive sightings in several states.

The National Crescent Sighting Committee in Mauritania announced that tomorrow, Sunday, is the first day of Eid al-Fitr. The committee said it relied on the sighting of the crescent moon by a number of citizens in different regions of the country. Accordingly, the first of Shawwal this year 1446 AH is Sunday, March 30, 2025 AD, according to the statement. The committee said that Eid al-Fitr prayers will be held at 9:00 a.m. at Ibn Abbas Mosque.

Dar Al-Fatwa issued the following statement: “It has been legally proven to us that the first day of Shawwal 1446 AH is tomorrow, Sunday, March 30, 2025 AD.
