Danvers moves toward trash fee to fund special-ed services and strained budget

Summary by Ground News
Danvers residents will pay an annual $200 trash fee starting in fiscal 2025. The move was announced by Town Manager Steve Bartha at last Tuesday's Select Board meeting. The fee won't apply to households already paying for private refuse collection services. The idea to use a trash fee to help fund school needs was first floated in the spring.
