Dame Prue Leith leaves The Great British Bake Off
- On Wednesday , Dame Prue Leith announced she will quit The Great British Bake Off in a statement, and Channel 4 confirmed her exit in posts shared the same day.
- Citing her age and schedule, Dame Prue Leith said it feels like the right time to step back at age 86, after gruelling summer filming at Welford Park and stepping down from Celebrity Bake Off.
- Dame Prue Leith said in her statement that Bake Off has been a fabulous part of her life for nine years and Love Productions praised her genuine expertise and innocent innuendos.
- Channel 4 said a new judge will be announced in due course and the next Bake Off series will air on the broadcaster later this year, while former contestants Jasmine Mitchell and Dr Rahul Mandal expressed sadness at Prue Leith's exit.
