JA21 has accepted the advice of informateur Sybrand Buma to let D66, VVD, and CDA take the next step in the formation process, the party told the Telegraaf. With the support of the Christian Union and 50Plus, there appears to be a parliamentary majority to put the three parties "to work" on a draft agreement. A minority government is thus one step closer, although political support remains fragile.

The Dutch social-liberal party D66 will begin talks on forming a minority government with the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) and the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD). This was announced on Monday by the mediator in charge of assessing the possibilities for forming a government, Sybrand Buma, the DPA agency reports.
