The access is still open and is now reasonably well marked on a somewhat different route from last year, and the marking now extends all the way to/from the marked Lake Placid Shore Owners Association (SOA) trail and Whiteface Inn Lane. The access still starts by parking on Whiteface Inn Lane and walking up Blodgett Lane/Way to a "fearsome" metal gate across the road.
