Crews continue Starry Fire containment as rain hits

Firefighters are continuing work on the 547-acre Starry Fire (#234) as wet weather moves in. With 70% containment, crews have been cutting jack straw, removing fallen trees and using water to extinguish hot spots. On Friday, firefighters worked to extinguish two spot fires on the northwest corner of the fire and one on the southeast corner. On the southwest corner of the fire, a smoking dozer berm was doused with water. Crews will grid this area…
