Bridgeport firetruck involved in crash while responding to call, official says

A Bridgeport official says the driver of the civilian vehicle was extricated by firefighters and transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

At approximately 1:30pm, Ladder 5 was involved in a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of North Avenue and Lindley Street while responding to an emergency call. The driver of the civilian vehicle was extricated by the members of the Bridgeport Fire Department and transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital for evaluation of minor injuries. The Bridgeport Police Department is investigating.
