High School Softball: Cougars season ends in region semifinals

The Patrick County softball team saw its season come to an end on Tuesday in the semifinals of the Region 2C tournament. The Cougars fell to Chatham, 7-0, at Botetourt Sports Complex.

South Central’s season came to an end with a 4-0 loss to Pawnee in a sectional semifinal game at Altamont. The Cougars ended their season with a 12-13 record. South Central was limited to a double by Maddox Robb and singles by Colton Smith and Trevan Sidwell (2). Sidwell took the loss, giving up four earned runs on seven hits. He had four strikeouts.
