Péter Magyar's party announced in the fall that nothing in Index's information, which was the basis for a government smear campaign, was true.
Responding to the correction, Péter Magyar wrote on his social media page that he believed the newspaper "lied throughout the election campaign."
On Sunday, Index published a statement at the bottom of its front page, stating that it was false to previously claim that the Tisza Party's tax package was announced last year. According to the future prime minister, the statement should be published in a more prominent place.
The newspaper, which often broadcasts messages from the outgoing government, must also pay half a million in legal costs, according to a previous ruling.
