William Contreras, Brewers Jump All over Dodgers
Logan Henderson allowed two hits and seven strikeouts as Milwaukee won its fourth straight and ninth straight over Los Angeles in regular-season play.
On Friday, the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-1 at American Family Field, powered by William Contreras's three-run home run and five shutout innings from starter Logan Henderson.
First facing each other since the Dodgers swept the Brewers in last year's NL Championship Series, Milwaukee entered the matchup having won 12 of their last 14 games.
Dodgers starter Justin Wrobleski allowed five runs in the first two innings, including a 410-foot home run by Contreras and an RBI double from Andrew Vaughn.
Winning their fourth consecutive game, the Brewers secured their ninth straight regular-season victory over Los Angeles, which scored its only run on a seventh-inning sacrifice fly by Shohei Ohtani.
Saturday's contest features Robert Gasser on the mound for the Brewers against Los Angeles pitcher Roki Sasaki as the series continues.
