Three weeks after the beginning of demonstrations of the GenZ 212 movement, Mohammed VI's cabinet announced on Sunday 19 October laws to modernize public life and strengthen the participation of young citizens. Education and public health, sectors at the heart of the collective's demands, will also see their budget increase.
The Council of Ministers endorsed a 19 % increase in both strategic areas, while youth-led mobilizations calling for structural reforms and social justice persist.
At the conclusion of the Council of Ministers held on Sunday, 19 October, draft laws were adopted to encourage young people to embark on politics, and in the fields of education and health, some 27,000 posts will be created.
