Construction of the energy mound on the industrial estate in Genk-Zuid has gotten off to a smooth start. The project was granted permits almost a year ago, after initial concerns about the soil quality. The first 75,000 tons have now been delivered. "We need a total of 900,000 tons of soil, so we'll be busy for a while," says Herman Backaert of the Cordeel Group.
