Conscription will last twelve months from 2027

The Defence Forces are planning a reform of conscription.

At a press briefing on Friday, Minister of Defence Hanno Pevkur and Commander of the Estonian Defence Forces, Major General Andrus Merilo, spoke about the reform of conscription. According to the plan, conscription will last 12 months from 2027, and it will be possible to enter the Defence Forces Academy immediately after completing the basic soldier course.
