Baxter Springs appoints Interim Police Chief – Newstalk KZRG

Baxter Springs, Kansas has a new top cop – at least on an interim basis. The City has appointed Rick Comer as interim police chief. That’s after Jimmy Hamilton voluntarily stepped down after just four months on the job. He’ll be serving as assistant Chief while the search continues for a permanent replacement. Comer named Baxter Springs chief

A new Chief of Police was hired by the Baxter Springs City Council Tuesday night at a special meeting of the Council. Baxter Springs Mayor Kelly Abbott appointed school resource officer Rick Comer as the new Baxter Springs Chief of Police following the resig-nation of the former chief Jimmy Hamilton on Friday.
