Colts place DeForest Buckner on IR
- On Friday after practice in Berlin, the Indianapolis Colts placed three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle DeForest Buckner on injured reserve with a neck injury, Coach Shane Steichen said, sidelining him for at least four games.
- Having played 49 snaps against Pittsburgh, or 79% of the team's total, Buckner was hurt in last week's 27-20 loss and did not travel for Sunday's game.
- Statistically, Buckner leads the Colts with 20 pressures, faces double teams on 64.2% of pass-rush snaps, and is tied for the team lead with 13 quarterback hits and four sacks.
- Personnel-Wise, the Colts will turn to Neville Gallimore and Adetomiwa Adebawore, who have 3.5 combined sacks, as coaches warn the pass rush will decline without Buckner.
- Ahead of Sunday's game, the Colts are coping with defensive injuries, including Tyquan Lewis , but added Sauce Gardner in Tuesday's trade to improve man coverage.
