Rome's biggest attraction has a new highlight: an underground secret passageway is soon accessible to visitors.
A secret underground passage, which remained hidden for a long time in the Colosseum of Rome, will open for visitors of this ancient amphitheater at the end of October, was announced by the representatives of the Archeological Colosseum Park in March.
Later this month, Romans and tourists will be able to peek into a tunnel beneath the Colosseum for the first time. The "Commodus Passage" was used by emperors during Roman times to enter and exit the amphitheater unnoticed. The tunnel was hidden for centuries and has been extensively restored in recent years.
