"The security of Colombians and the region demands firm decisions against structures that, like the Cartel de los Soles, have been linked to drug trafficking and terrorism activities," the Senate said, according to the newspaper 'El Tiempo', after the proposal was approved with 33 votes in favour and 20 against.
