FIFA received 500 million ticket requests for 7 million available seats during a month-long application, setting a new record for World Cup demand.

- Fans placed an average of 15 million ticket requests per day, FIFA said, naming Colombia v. Portugal in Miami on June 27 as the hottest ticket and listing other top-five matches.
- Fans who submitted applications will be notified by email sometime after Feb. 4 and no earlier than Feb. 5, while FIFA expects a last-minute sales phase to open in early April.
- The scale and limited supply will shape fan planning and logistics as FIFA said about 2 million tickets were sold in the first two rounds from 7 million tickets available in 16 host cities.
