Following the 7.4 magnitude earthquake in Colombia on August 10, President Abelardo de la Espriella announced that reconstruction had begun in the damaged areas and that more than 150,000 homes had been affected.
The National Government reported 31,519 homes destroyed and another 178,236 affected as a result of the earthquake that struck different regions of the country. President Abelardo de la Espriella handed over the balance during an event in Quibdó, where he announced the formal start of the reconstruction.
