Cocaine in the banana container: long term prison sentences

Four men smuggled more than half a ton of cocaine from Ecuador to Germany. The drugs have a million-dollar value. Now the judgments have been handed down at the regional court in Cologne.

Cologne/Hamburg (dpa) – More than half a tonne of cocaine was discovered by customs in Hamburg in January 2024 – four drug smugglers have now been sentenced to high prison terms. Three defendants have to be detained between ten and a half and twelve and a half years – because of the import of the drug and the trade with it.
