THESSALONIKI, GREECE, AUG 10 – Authorities intercepted a container carrying cocaine valued at 5.5 million euros, disrupting a major smuggling operation aimed at illegal drug distribution.
- Greek police seized over 271 kilos of cocaine with an estimated value of over 5.5 million euros hidden inside a banana container from Ecuador, and arrested three men.
- The arrested men include two Greeks- a 40-year-old haulage company owner and a 32-year-old, and a 47-year-old Bulgarian citizen who was in touch with a drug gang.
- The 32-year-old was in charge of distributing the drugs through unnamed gang members, and more people belonging to a drug distribution gang are being sought.
