- Last month, cases emerged in Bhagirathpura, Indore, with residents claiming 24 deaths, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College linking 15, and the Madhya Pradesh government reporting seven to the High Court; the Smart Cities Mission faces scrutiny.
- At Bombay Hospital, Gandhi checked on four patients admitted with vomiting and diarrhoea linked to contaminated water, visited bereaved homes including Geeta Dhruvkar’s, and local civic officials noted some deaths had other causes.
- The administration has paid Rs 2 lakh each to the families of 21 people who died after the outbreak, with Yadav announcing aid and free treatment as part of his rebuttal.
- Despite reported Smart Cities Mission progress with 99.44% budget released by March 31, 2025, Rahul Gandhi demanded permanent water-supply solutions, saying residents of Bhagirathpura want sustainable systems.
