The fighting in Sudan entered a second week on Saturday, after the failure of a temporary ceasefire between the two warring parties. There were fewer heavy explosions at night than in the previous days, but there was plenty of shooting again in the morning.

As Sudan began the second day of a 72-hour ceasefire, some fighting was still taking place. The International Committee of the Red Cross says it is having trouble delivering aid to people in need.
