City works to restore lost utility records

The entire electronic records of the of the city of Columbus utility departments were lost last week due to a hardware mechanical failure in the computer system. The city had two hard drives, one backing up the other when both failed. The cause of the mechanical failure was unknown, however each time the hard drive tried to restart itself it apparently erased more of the records.
