City wants to adjust dog tax with cut-off date regulation

The city of Göttingen intends to amend the dog tax regulations passed by the council in March and effective July 1, 2025. The reason for this is that the regulations provide for significantly higher taxation of dogs classified as dangerous for the first time. However, this will only apply to dangerous dogs that are first registered after July 1, 2025. The administration will present this proposal to the council at its June meeting.
