The incident took place on the night of 26 December and affected the company's IT business infrastructure. Some documents and files were encrypted after the attack, while many computer applications became temporarily unavailable. Also, the company's activity was partly affected, without endangering the functioning of the National Energy System.

The Energy Oltenia complex was arrested by a cybernetic attack type of ransomware, called "Gentlemen", which affected part of the company's activity. The incident was identified Friday, about 01:40, announced Saturday to the Oltenia Energetic Complex official.
An information attack of type ransomware affected, on the night of 26 December, the IT business infrastructure of the Company’s Integrated Energy Oltenia. The attack took place about 1:40 p.m., announced to the company’s officials.
