Christina Applegate tested for lupus and Lyme disease after MS misdiagnosis
On Tuesday, actress Christina Applegate revealed she is undergoing medical testing for lupus and Lyme disease as doctors search for answers following her recent multiple sclerosis misdiagnosis.
The 54-year-old actress spent five years battling symptoms she believed were caused by MS, only to learn last month that the diagnosis was incorrect, leaving her without explanation for her condition.
During the November 3 episode of her "MeSsy" podcast co-hosted with The Sopranos star Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Christina explained she is investigating "sister diseases" to MS, stating "I'm being tested for all that stuff, slowly but surely."
Admitting she feels like a "fraud" after six years living with the MS identity, Christina said she remains in pain and continues struggling with daily mobility, still requiring a walker for household tasks.
Despite the ongoing health mystery, the actress confirmed she will remain involved with the MS community, emphasizing she intends to continue supporting friends she made during her diagnosis journey "in one way or another.
