UNITED KINGDOM, MAY 22 – Chris Brown must pay £5 million bail and comply with strict conditions to continue his Breezy Bowl XX world tour amid assault charges involving grievous bodily harm.
- On May 21, 2025, a UK judge granted Grammy-winning artist Chris Brown release on bail set at £5 million in connection with an assault allegation.
- The charges arise from accusations that Brown violently assaulted music producer Abe Diaw by repeatedly hitting him with a bottle and then punching and kicking him during an incident at a nightclub in London’s Mayfair district in February 2023 while on tour.
- Prosecutor Hannah Nicholls told the court that Brown assaulted Diaw by repeatedly hitting him with a bottle before landing punches and kicks, all of which was recorded by a security camera.
- Brown’s case was transferred to Southwark Crown Court where he will appear on June 13, 2025, and both Brown and co-defendant Omololu Akinlolu must appear again on June 20.
