The Goncourt Prize of Slovenia, in which students of the University of Ljubljana choose the best French novel of the year, has been awarded to the novel Jacaranda by writer Gael Fay. The winner was announced on Thursday as part of the Slovenian Book Days in Ljubljana. The project is coordinated by the French Institute in Slovenia in cooperation with partners.
The election was made by a jury composed of eight students from eight Portuguese universities, chaired by the French writer and filmmaker Philippe Claudel, president of the Goncourt Academy, in a debate that took place this evening in the French Embassy in Lisbon.
