Typhoon Kajiki drenches southern China’s Hainan island and heads toward Vietnam
Authorities in southern China and Vietnam have evacuated over 600,000 people and suspended services ahead of Typhoon Kajiki, expected to bring winds up to 170 kph and heavy rain.

- Emergency services deployed 918 rescue teams with 7,741 personnel, evacuating 20,728 people from risky areas as local authorities in Hainan and Fengxian District prepared for Kajiki.
- Vietnam plans to evacuate more than 586,000 people from central provinces and Vietnam Airlines cancelled at least 22 flights, while coastal shipping and fishing vessels were ordered ashore.
- Coming after months of extreme rainfall, Kajiki is the 13th typhoon this year, following Typhoon Podul and Typhoon Co‑May; natural disasters caused 52.15 billion yuan in losses last month, the Ministry of Emergency Management reported.
