Waikato Chiefs Dominate Crusaders to Claim Final Spot

On Friday, the Chiefs defeated the reigning champion Crusaders 49-12 at Waikato Stadium in Hamilton, securing a spot in their fourth consecutive Super Rugby Pacific final.
Runners-Up for the last three years, the Chiefs overcame the team that beat them in the 2023 and 2025 finals, ending the Crusaders' title reign.
Damian McKenzie converted all six tries to establish an imposing 42-5 halftime lead, with the flyhalf playing his 150th match for the Chiefs.
Crusaders skipper David Havili forced a try 22 minutes into the second half, though the team could not break down the Chiefs' defense despite the effort.
The winner of Saturday's semi-final between the Hurricanes and the Blues in Wellington will determine the Chiefs' opponent for next weekend's final.
