Shreveport crime drops, gun seizures surge

SHREVEPORT, La. — With violent crime down 44%, the Shreveport Police Department is shifting some of its focus toward addressing quality of life crimes, while continuing to prioritize removing illegal firearms from the streets.

The Local Security Board held yesterday Wednesday analyzed the security figures and resources in the municipality, where the crime rate is ten points below the provincial average.
