RALEIGH, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- The bill that could eventually lead to the funding of Mecklenburg County’s transit plan easily passed its second reading Wednesday. The P.A.V.E. Act allows Mecklenburg County to place a ballot referendum for voters to decide on a one-cent sales tax increase to improve roads, buses, and rail transit.
