- Windy conditions and challenging pin positions at Dundonald Links caused what some called 'carnage' in the first round; tournament director Pauli Van Meesbergen admitted that particular hole location had been a 'tricky one.'
- Hull's 15-foot birdie putt rolled off the green, requiring four chips to return to the putting surface; Englishwoman Georgia Hall suffered worse, recording a quintuple-bogey 10 on the 14th hole.
- Hull signed for 6-over 78, trailing leaders Jenny Shin and American Lauren Coughlin, while Hall finished 10-over 82 with an additional triple bogey on the eighth hole.
- Returning to Nailcote Hall in August, Hull will compete at the British Par 3 Championship, 19 years after her junior debut and following her 2012 victory in the Norma C. Herd Trophy.
