Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Reveals 2026 Inductees: 'Very Heavy Brit Influence This Year'
The class includes eight performer inductees and honors five early influence acts, four musical excellence recipients and Ed Sullivan.
On Monday, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame revealed its 2026 class during American Idol, with host Ryan Seacrest and Rock Hall of Famer Lionel Richie announcing the inductees.
The 2026 performer category spans eight artists: Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Oasis, Sade, Luther Vandross, and Wu-Tang Clan, reflecting the Hall's commitment to broad cultural impact.
Eight marquee names receive posthumous honors, including Celia Cruz, Fela Kuti, and Gram Parsons. The Musical Excellence Award recognizes Arif Mardin and Linda Creed, while Ed Sullivan receives the Ahmet Ertegun award.
Despite winning the 2026 fan vote, New Edition failed to make the Class of 2026. Other notable omissions include Mariah Carey, Lauryn Hill, and Shakira, despite their significant popularity.
The 2026 induction ceremony will take place November 14 in Los Angeles, to be aired on ABC and Disney+ in December.
