The sound of the turbines of a military aircraft taking off from the Jose Aponte de la Torre Airport in Ceiba opened the door of one of the abandoned houses in Punta Cascajo, at the former Roosevelt Roads Naval Base. One person, attracted by the noise, peeks out to look into the sky from the inside of the residence that seems abandoned. I am surprised to see someone there, and from the startle I accelerate my bike in a hurry between the weeds.
