Former All-Star Catcher Yadier Molina Returns to Cardinals’ Dugout as Temporary Coach

On Friday, Yadier Molina, 43-year-old former catcher, returns to the St. Louis Cardinals' dugout in uniform for a game against the Chicago Cubs at Busch Stadium.
Molina rejoined as a special assistant on Dec. 6, 2023, and was invited by Marmol to join the dugout since attending Wainwright's retirement ceremony.

Molina is set to manage Puerto Rico in the 2026 World Baseball Classic but said it will be at least a year after that before considering a full-time coaching role.
