In the north of Italy severe storms rage, in Switzerland there are massive snowfalls. Now the Federal Foreign Office is also reporting on the extreme weather situation.

Numerous rivers in northern Italy have burst their banks after heavy rains in the northern regions. Authorities have closed certain areas to traffic on roads near the rivers.

Severe weather conditions are hitting southern Switzerland and northern Italy. The national weather services have issued a red alert due to extreme precipitation in these regions.
