Flemish Prime Minister Matthias Diependaele (N-VA) calls for a possible cut in politics to be viewed in a broader perspective. He finds the attack on the housing allowance earlier this week unfair. "I am addressing the coalition partners of CD&V and Vooruit", he said. "Anyone who thinks that you can regain the trust of the voter by following the communists in a race to the bottom is mistaken", he said.
That Vooruit wants to exclude pension savings from capital gains tax under pressure from CD&V and the MR does not bring an agreement any closer. The positions on exemptions for entrepreneurs and those who hold their shares for ten years seem to be hardening.
