Canon expands its RF-mount lineup with the brightest ultra-wide 14mm f/1.4L prime and a 190° fisheye zoom, both bringing L-series quality and video-optimized features.
- On Feb. 04, 2026 Canon announced two RF-mount ultra-wide lenses, the Canon RF 14mm f/1.4L VCM and Canon RF 7-14mm f/2.8-3.5L Fisheye STM, via GlobeNewswire and B&H Photo Video.
- The move follows expansion of Canon's f/1.4L VCM series, with the RF 14mm f/1.4L VCM as the sixth hybrid-oriented prime designed for hybrid photo-video workflows.
- The RF 14mm packs 18 elements in 13 groups including a fluorite element, UD and BR optics, a Voice Coil Motor autofocus system, an 11-bladed diaphragm, and 9.5 inches minimum focus distance.
- Both lenses arrive this month priced at $2,599 for the RF 14mm f/1.4L VCM and $1,899 for the RF 7-14mm f/2.8-3.5L Fisheye STM, offering L-series durability and VR workflow support.
- Given its bulbous front element, the RF 14mm f/1.4L VCM lacks front filter threads and uses pre-cut rear gelatin or polyester filters, which may limit landscape and video shooters.
