Over 11,000 people have called for a 1,000-metre exclusion zone around quarries - but their voices continue to be ignored by ministers, according to opposition politicians. Carolyn Thomas, Labor Member of Parliament, presented a debate yesterday (June 4) on a petition with 11,473 names on it calling for an exclusion zone near homes, schools and hospitals.
