BYD's China Megafactory Now Seven Times Larger Than Tesla's Austin Plant
- Satellite imagery from Vantor and Planet Images shows BYD's Zhengzhou site in Henan province, China, has more than doubled since July 2023 and now dwarfs Tesla's largest gigafactory in Austin, Texas.
- BYD broke ground in late 2021 and began production in April 2023, rapidly turning the Zhengzhou factory into a major hub to grow global capacity and challenge Tesla.
