On the 18th anniversary of Brisbane Kaohsiung Park, the Taiwanese community held a BBQ event at Eight Mile Plains' Kaohsiung Park on June 30th, organized by the Taiwanese Association of Brisbane, with over 100 Taiwanese participants and guests attending, including the mayors of Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. Brisbane's Kaohsiung Park was visited by Kaohsiung's Deputy Mayor, Yeh Jui-Lan, in 2006.
