Hazmat Chemical Incident Under Investigation at Georgetown Perdue Plant

A hazmat incident occurred at the Perdue Plant on Savannah Road in Georgetown Wednesday afternoon around 4:40pm. Area residents within a half mile of the plant were asked to shelter in place while the incident was investigated. Roads surrounding the plant were also closed to traffic.
