Further Indecent Assault Charges Dropped for Alan Jones
Prosecutors say the case now involves six complainants after withdrawing four indecent-assault charges before Jones’s trial.
On Tuesday, prosecutors at Downing Centre Local Court withdrew four indecent assault charges against Alan Jones, reducing the total charges he faces to 22.
The dismissed charges involved two individuals identified in court documents as "Complainant D" and "Complainant G," with allegations from Complainant D dating to 2008 in Kiama.
Prosecutors have reduced the number of complainants in the case to six from 11, with defense counsel Gabrielle Bashir confirming the DPP determined there would be no further proceedings on these matters.
Jones continues to deny all wrongdoing, having pleaded not guilty to all remaining charges ahead of the four-month hearing beginning August 3.
Judge Glenn Walsh formally dismissed the charges, with proceedings remaining in the Local Court before a magistrate rather than a jury trial.
